Some people begin a business because they see an opportunity. Others begin because something inside them is calling them toward a life with greater purpose, freedom, and possibility. For my cousin Kilsis Gomez, building The Travel Luxe Lifestyle by Gomez represents all of those things.

Kilsis holds an associate degree in Human Services and has worked for Boston Public Schools for approximately fifteen years. As an administrative assistant, she has dedicated herself to supporting students and families with patience, compassion, and care. Helping others has always been part of who she is.

She is also the proud mother of Derek, Kayli, and Jayrek. Her children are her greatest motivation and a powerful reason behind her decision to create something of her own. Like so many women, Kilsis has spent years caring for others while quietly carrying dreams of her own. Now she is giving those dreams the attention, faith, and determination they deserve.

Her love for travel inspired her to become a certified Luxury Travel Specialist and create The Travel Luxe Lifestyle by Gomez. Through her business, she helps clients plan meaningful and memorable experiences while removing much of the stress that can come with organizing a trip. Whether someone is dreaming of a peaceful escape, a family vacation, or a luxurious celebration, Kilsis wants every journey to feel personal and unforgettable.

What I admire most about Kilsis is her willingness to begin. Starting something new requires courage, especially while balancing motherhood, a career, and the responsibilities of everyday life. She is building her business with love, sacrifice, and a genuine desire to create a better future for herself and her children.

As her cousin, I am incredibly proud of the woman she is and the woman she continues to become. I have watched her give so much of herself to her family and community. It is beautiful to now watch her invest that same love and dedication into her own purpose.

Kilsis’s story reminds us that it is never too late to believe in a new dream. Sometimes the next chapter begins with the courage to take one step, trust yourself, and allow your passion to lead the way.
